OOTO
Sometimes I tune into obscure horror movies. Other times I rip around on a ‘05 Harley Sportster, thrift or embroider. But I always chef. Hitting the farmers market for ingredients and cooking up something yummy is my consistent OOTO ritual.
I would be lying if I said there weren’t rushes of anxiety. Will I pull this off? Wait, did I buy enough of that? Shoot. But more than anything, cooking grounds me.
Once I settle into a process and plot my course, I get to hide away from life’s many distractions. I’m able to focus on more than just the process. I connect with the culture of the meal, and the joy of eating — which I often share with those I love.
